Compassionate Listening is an internationally known model developed by Leah Green in 1990 during the citizen diplomacy movement and under the umbrella of the Earth Steward Network.

Would you like to bring a great gift to yourself, your co-workers, your clients and your loved ones? Imagine offering a deepened capacity for compassion.  Come learn to be a Compassionate Listener, and discover ways to foster bringing peace and healing to your life and our world.  Many professionals, teachers, parents, counselors, coaches, mediators, etc. have found their work greatly strengthened through integrating the deep and powerful practices of Compassionate Listening.  Your personal life will be enhanced, with improved relationships with family, friends and co-workers– and a greater capacity to bring compassionate support to yourself.

In this model you will develop skills in five core practice areas: Cultivating Compassion; Developing the Fair Witness; Respecting Self and Others; Listening with the Heart; and Speaking from the Heart. Deepen your capacity for compassion and learn ways to foster bringing peace and healing to your life and the world. To learn more about the movement visit: www.compassionatelistening.org.

Presented by Susan Partnow and Andrea Cohen with Ilene Stark.  Sponsored by the City of Seattle Alternative Dispute Program & the Washington Mediation Association.
